Maldives Institute of Nautical Sciences has successfully completed training a batch of students from Vakkaru Maldives for the Coastal Navigation Course (Niyami-2 Certificate).

In addition to the classroom subjects and for learning purposes, a physical inspection of a vessel (Dhoni) was carried out according to the survey checklist prescribed in Transport Authority safety regulation 2015/R-229.

Man-overboard and survival at sea drills off Vakk aru Maldives were carried out during the training. Upon instruction and demonstration, students carried out practical Williamson turns as a rescue turn during the Man-overboard exercises.
